Orthotics are just one solution and often not the best solution for foot pain. Foot Mobilisation Therapy is what we specialise in and is a gentle way to treat foot problems.
The problem with orthotics is they don’t fit into shoes, and are particularly limiting for females. This is the most common complaint we receive, and is why 12 years ago I decided to specialize in foot mobilisation therapy. With foot mobilisation therapy, you don’t have to change your footwear and can keep wearing any footwear you like, even heals. Orthotics also don’t address the underlying cause of the problem. A great example of this is a comparison to glasses. They work well and correct your vision while you’re wearing them, but when you take them off, you’re vision is back to being blurred. We fix your feet and eliminate heel pain, plantar fasciitis, foot pain, ball of foot pain, morton’s neuroma, Achilles tendonitis, clawed toes and bunions.
Orthotics are the same, as soon as you take them out of your shoes, your feet will fall again. When you have laser eye surgery, it is corrective and creates long term change. Foot mobilisation therapy is the same, and can even correct issues that you would normally use surgery for, things like bunions and clawed digits. Orthotics can also be uncomfortable whereas foot mobilisation therapy is a gradual change over a cycle of treatment. At Alternative Foot Solutions, we are the only clinic in New South Wales to specialize in foot mobilisation therapy, and have over 12 years of experience in this field.
